What is FC IQ?
What the new FC IQ engine does is a better job of managing the players you aren’t controlling. If you want to set a tactic to create an overlapping full-back when your winger goes forward, a la Kyle Walker at Man City you can, in theory, do this.
As you move forward your full-back should attempt to overlap you and get in position for a short ball that they can then cross into the box.
If your tactics are on point, the striker will have made their run into the six-yard area and all you need to do is not shank it into the stands. FC IQ cannot help you there. EA did its own deep dive in IQ which you can check out here.
Now if you have ever got embroiled in messing with tactics in Football Manager you can quickly realise that this is not for you. You can easily make things worse rather than better. That’s where Tactics Codes come in. Let’s have a look.

Imagine a system where you could take somebody else’s tactics and import them directly into your game by entering a short alphanumeric string.
